The Old West
It was the time of Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, Jesse James and Black Bart, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It was the Old West, a time when buffalo roamed the prairies and wagon trains carried settlers to the new frontier.
The saga of the Old West is filled with tales of adventure with pioneers roving the plains seeking the unknown in the vast territorial lands west of the Mississippi River.
This was the day of the Native Americans, mountainmen, pioneers, wagon trains, pony express, railroads, new settlements, hunters, sportsmen, soldiers, politicians, outlaws & lawmen.
The Theme of the 2004 Louisiana Cattle Festival and Fair is the Old West- a time when men were men and Judge Colt and his six jurors ruled the day.
