Jaida Griffin, daughter of Presley and Barbara Griffin, has been named Jr. Parade Marshall for the 2004 Louisiana Cattle Festival. She is 14 years old, has two brothers, Slade and Cade Griffin and has been an active 4-H member for five years and a Jr. Leader member for one year. Jaida has participated in the Beef project for one year, showing Brangus cattle.  Accomplishments during her 4-H career have been outstanding. Awards won in the Beef Project are: State Livestock Records in 6th grade- 1st, Parish Premier Exhibitor-5th, Parish Beef Records- 1st, Beef Cookery-Red Ribbon and 3rd, Livestock Judging-3rd, and Beef Poster Contest- Blue Ribbon. She has shown her Brangus on the Parish, District and State levels.  Jaida's involvement in 4-H includes more than her Beef Project. She has served as CRD Chairman and is currently serving as Reporter for her club and CRD for the Jr. Leader club. She also participates in Horticulture, winning 1st  with her garden for the past three years. In the Aquaculture Project she placed 1st  at Parish, 1st  at District and 2nd at State for Seafood Ambassador. Jaida is also involved in the Foods and Nutrition, Rabbit, Citizenship and Leadership Projects. This summer she attended Short Course in Dog Care and placed in the Blue Ribbon group. She was also the Good Provider winner in 7th grade. This year Jaida was Vermilion Parish Top Girl and won 1st in Overall Records.  Away from 4-H Jaida takes piano, dancing, attends a Gifted Program at UL, and was awarded the Post's Cereal Rise and Shine Award for her community service work.  Jaida works hard in all her projects, but the Beef Project is close to her heart. Her dream is to one day have her own herd of Brangus cattle. With all this said, she is most deserving of the honor to Jr. Parade Marshall of the 2004 Louisiana Cattle Festival.
