Born in Abbeville, July 28, 1943; son of Irby and Lillian Mouton Hebert; maternal and paternal ancestors were pioneer settlers of Vermilion Parish; married, April 18, 1970, in Houston, Texas, to Meg Burns Hebert; four children: Margaret Hebert Dufour, Miia Hebert, Mary Grace Hebert and Madeleine Hebert.

EXPERIENCE
History of elected/appointed offices held: Appointed part-time U. S. Magistrate, Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette-Opelousas Division, July 1, 1975-July 10, 1980. Elected to the 15th Judicial District Court, Division “C”; first judicial oath: October 3, 1980; re-elected for four successive terms, subsequent judicial oaths: January 1, 1985, January 1, 1991, January 1, 1997, and January 1, 2003; retired January 1, 2009.
