Helen Theriot

If Roy Theriot, Sr. was the brains behind the festival, his wife Helen was is heart and soul. She patiently humbled herself as the quiet hostess behind he scenes for the annual giant barbeque for festival honorees, public officials, and invited guests that looked like a virtual Who’s Who of hundreds in their back yard. She also spearheaded the annual fundraiser for the festivals, walking the streets of Vermilion Parish soliciting donations from area businesses to pay for bands and trophies. She was quite a lady.
