Cessac has been an officer/ex-officio of the
Cattle Festival working on fund raising
events like the cake bingo and also helping
out on the parade route during the festival.
Attending Vermilion Parish public schools,
Cessac graduated in 1983. He works in the
Materials Management Department of Abbeville
General Hospital, where he has been employed
for the past 16 years. In addition, he works
with Vermilion Jumps delivering, setting up
and taking down the inflatables.
Cessac is a member of the Roman Catholic
faith and attends church services across the
southeast corner of the parish at St. Mary
Magdalen, St. Theresa, St. John’s in Henry
and St. James in Esther.
For his personal side of life, he enjoys
cooking. His favorite meals to prepare
include spaghetti, chili, sausage in tomato
gravy and scrambled eggs. Visiting with
people at the nursing homes and helping
people in the neighborhood around their
houses are also some of his activities. He
also enjoys making the rounds during the
political campaigning season with candidates
he knows and listening to the bands as they
perform for the various festivals. He can
easily be picked out of the crowd dancing to
the “Freeze.”
An avid sports fan, he can usually be found
tailgating for LSU, ULL and the New Orleans
Saints. If he’s not at the game, he can most
often be found watching the game on
television with friends. When he’s not
tailgating, he can usually be found helping
out at the concession stand cooking
hamburgers and hotdogs for the Vermilion
Catholic baseball team.
Vacation time includes camping with his
sister and her husband (Donna and Todd
Stelly), and when he can, Branson, Mo., is a
favorite place to vacation. Cessac has a
real love of country music and Branson has
grown on the reputation of country music
performers who have played there through the
years.
Cessac is the son of Curnal and Lois H.
Cessac. He also has two siblings: Donna
Stelly and Dennis Cessac.
